Ponencia en la Conferencia Anual del Council for the Study of Community Colleges

El evento se desarrolló de forma virtual el día 15 de abril del 2021.

La Dra. Pilar Mendoza y el Dr. Fredy Cárdenas compartieron la experiencia de IAPJ como una iniciativa de diversidad, equidad e inclusión en educación superior en Colombia y Estados Unidos en el evento anual del Council for the Study of Community Colleges (CSCC) de forma virtual el día 15 de abril del 2021, el cual está afiliado a la American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), la asociación más importante de instituciones técnicas y tecnológicas en EE.UU. Así mismo, Mauricio Izquierdo, director de Programas de Internacionalización con EE.UU en UNIMINUTO hizo una presentación de las experiencias de UNIMINUTO en temas de intercambios con instituciones “community colleges”.

La sesión en la que se presentaron los representantes de UNIMINUTO fue organizada por la presidenta electa de la organización, la Dra. Eboni Zamani-Gallaher de la Universidad de Eastern Michigan bajo el título Acceso y Éxito de Estudiantes Latinos/as de Colombia. Los otros ponentes en esta sesión fueron la Dra. Tatiana Melguizo de la Universidad de Southern California y la Dra. Maria Claudia Soler del American Council of Education, ambas colombianas, quienes presentaron trabajos relacionados con la educación técnica y tecnológica en Colombia.

Annual Conference Council for the Study of Community Colleges

On April 15, 2021, Dr. Pilar Mendoza and Dr. Fredy Cárdenas shared virtually the experience of YPAR as an initiative of diversity, equity and inclusion in higher education in Colombia and the United States in the annual event of the Council for the Study of Community Colleges (CSCC). The council is affiliated to the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC); the most important association of technical and technological institutions in the U.S. Mauricio Izquierdo, Director of Internationalization Programs with USA in UNIMINUTO, presented UNIMINUTO’s experiences with exchanges with community colleges.
The session in which the representatives of UNIMINUTO presented was organized by the president-elect of the organization, Dr. Eboni Zamani-Gallaher from Eastern Michigan University under the title Access and Success of Latino Students from Colombia. The other speakers in this session were Dr. Tatiana Melguizo from University of Southern California and Dr. Maria Claudia Soler from the American Council of Education, both Colombian. They presented papers related to technical and technological education in Colombia.
